Still trying to catch up from a very busy March. Was away most of the month for shoots and meetings… lots of positives on the way.
Had fun shoots with Kimya Dawson and Aesop Rock– watch for the record they are doing together! Also did all the press for the new Hail Mary Mallon record as
well as portraits of Chromeo, The Cool Kids, A Track, Notts, Asher Roth, and New Look. Will be a while until I can show most of them…
Here’s a couple photos of hang out times in Austin.

Forgetters get Goth.

Just finished a shoot with Forgetters from Brooklyn. I won’t be able to show the photos for a while but I do have to say it got a little Goth. Which, in my book (and theirs) is a good thing! Was nice to see and “work” with Blake again as I haven’t photographed him in a band since the Jets to Brazil days. Caroline and Kevin are such sweet folks as well– such a pleasure to work with them!

The TeddyBears!

Just wrapped a shoot with the Swedish band The TeddyBears for Atlantic Records. We spent three days shooting around Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Such a great experience! I am really excited for the record to come out as the photos definitely tell a story… Pretty surreal running around Las Vegas with three guys in giant Teddy Bear heads… Here are some “behind the scenes” photos from the shoot.

I’ve been going through some past shoots over the last couple of days- working on a new project with a fellow woman photographer/friend. I came across these two polaroids and wanted to share– I love the quietness of the two photos and also the confidence of each of the women. It also makes me think it’s time to start shooting more Polaroids (Ok! Fuji!) on shoots.

Salvation Mountain

I recently had the opportunity to visit Salvation Mountain down in Niland, California. Though I am in no way religious, I found Leonard Knight’s dedication to spreading the word of Love and God really inspiring. Here is a link to his website to read about his story: http://www.salvationmountain.us/
The Mountain is built out of hay, dirt, tires and tree branches and then covered with lots and lots of paint… Here are some photos from my visit with friends Robert and Karoline.

Whenever it’s time for new promos, the cut and paste-zine making teenager inside of me is excited to get to work! I like to make prints and place/tape/glue them in a book before laying it out on the computer. It’s just nice to be hands on with it all. And in the end there is this sweet little book of prints.
