Being freelance is like riding on a roller coaster sometimes… up and down up and down. Sometimes it’s up up up which is always nice. Having your own business is not always easy that’s for sure. But I do have to say, it’s nice being your own boss! I think it’s important to support people who branch out on their own to do something they love for work. The people in our lives… I am constantly inspired and moved by the people in my life. I won’t go on forever about this because I know Adam wouldn’t want me to. BUT I have to mention how proud of and inspired by I am of my friend AC Thompson. He is an investigative reporter that is really making a difference. Heading out the door for a shoot in Tucson, Arizona! Before I leave, I wanted to post a couple photos. This past weekend I spent some time with one of the most inspiring women I have ever met (and her granddaughter). Though the story is too long to write right now, I will get it all down on here in time. For now, I will just say, this woman(JoAnn) made a promise to a friend of hers to keep her art alive as long as she physically could. After a double mastectomy and now rheumatoid arthritis, JoAnn takes people to visit her friend’s art as often as she can. Her friend passed away years ago… I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to see the amount of love and admiration JoAnn showed towards the place. Not to mention, the love between her and her grandaughter. It was just a really nice way to spend Valentine’s Day– one full of love and inspiration.

Great Weekend!

This last weekend was a great one! I was in three separate group shows that opened, did a REALLY fun shoot with Tokyo Police Club (press for the new record they are currently working on!) AND one of my best friends came to town for a photo adventure out to the Bottle Village in Simi Valley! Pshew- a busy, yet, really great weekend full of nerdy photo talk and friendship (oh and lots of coffee!)! What else could you ask for?! Here’s a cute photo of Paul and Ariel with their dog Agnes. Agnes was the star of the TPC shoot I did on Valentine’s Day! More photos to come soon!

TRUTH, AT FAMILY IN LOS ANGELES FEB. 13TH 2010

A Kill Soulless Bullshit Happening is taking place at Family 436 N. Fairfax Ave. Los Angeles, CA. on Feb.13,2010.

Tim Kerr with the help of Family, Altamont, and lots of friends, will be showing art and playing music in hopes of planting self expression seeds in others.

Found a roll of film in my half frame camera today and to my surprise- friends!!!

I do have to say nothing compares to the look of film…can’t help it– love the grain!
Happy and excited to be shooting tons of personal stuff on film these days!
